The Ramp Ryzer (patent pending) is a new system to unload with a hand truck or cart freight safely and expeditiously such as is common in restaurants, convenience stores and other retail “through the door” operations. It is a type of hybrid liftgate and ramp. The Ryzer improves safety with a built-in cable to address the OSHA “four-foot rule” for fall prevention. In addition, it improves productivity by automatically deploying the ramp even before the driver leaves the cab of this truck. The ramp has a mobile carrier that quickly raises and lowers driver with hand truck or freight. When the driver is unloading materials with their hand truck the unit has a safety stop at the end of the carrier but when the carrier reaches the ground the stop recedes. The metrics for productivity is 1.5-to-2-man hours per driver per day. When the driver returns to the warehouse the Ryzer is hinged to the trailer or body frame post to swing out the way of for the unloading and loading of pallets with no interference from Ryzer,
It is common in this segment of last mile logistics for these drivers to make between 10 and 20 stops per day and 3 to 10 movements from the back of truck or trailer per stop to total to over 100 movements per day. Therefore, with the automatic deployment of the ramp and better driver velocity of the lift system, weekly savings of 10 or 12 hours per week per driver is achieved.
